Efforts to Free Encroached Land
The main occupation in the operational area of LKS is agriculture and allied activities. The status of a person in the society is measured through the quantity of land he/she owns. The feudal system could be seen here in practice openly so the marginalised communities, like the other parts of country, do not own much land. There are instances in which even whatever land they own, are preyed upon by the feudal people and in many cases lands of marginalised communities have been encroached by the upper castes. The Dalits are not in the condition to get this land free and because of which these families are living under the condition of high unemployment and poverty. The organization Dalit Adhikar Abhiyan helps these people to get their land free.
