Self Help Groups and Income Generation Activity
The operational area of the organisation is very backward. Absence of banks even at block level and poor transport infrastructure worsens the condition. To meet this situation, the organisation is constituting self help groups of women and men so that their small savings could be mobilised to the banks and after specified time they could take loans from banks and create employment opportunities for them and for other community members.
At presently more 100 SHGs are functioning properly. Some of them have taken loans from banks and started their business and others are in the process.
ISRO Supported Satellite Projects
Village Resource Centre (VRC) has been set up with a view to integrate its capabilities in satellite communications and satellite based earth observations to disseminate a variety of services from the space system and other IT tools to address the changing and critical needs of rural communities. The VRC aims at reaching every rural household with location, needs, gender, livelihood and time specific knowledge. The programme covers food, water, health, and work for all. The programme will provide immeasurable benefits to all the sections of the society.
Drinking Water
Clean drinking water is a dream especially for the poor in the desert region. No rainfall for one or two years worsens the condition. The government has constructed tanks, which get water in a week or two. But they have been captured by the samants (upper caste people) and the poor get nothing for this purpose. LKS emphasises on tanka construction and tanka repairing so that poor could get clean and safe drinking water. This also helps to the children of the family because need not to cover several miles to fetch water.
