Values and Principles
LKS realises its mission through:
- Promoting and nurturing leadership in civil society institutions and extending the livelihood base of the community, and
- Building their accessibility to the basic support services like education, health, drinking water etc. through arrays of development projects designed around social, economical and political empowerment programmes.
The organisation forwards the interventions and available resources to the vulnerable sections of the society through village level institutions. These institutions are issue based or task based. Institutions are formed in a general meeting of the village, representing different sections of the society and are empowered to understand their roles and responsibilities through dialogues, exposures, trainings and meetings.
It mobilises the community to participate in the process of local governance and assert their presence to avail the benefits. It also recognises and promotes the importance of dalits and women in the whole state of affairs.
Values
LKS recognises value as flesh and blood of the organisation. It is determined to promote itself as a valued organisation, which was established to address the social causes and is committed for the development of its people. The organisation identifies democracy, transparency and decentralisation as its risen values. These values are the foundation of LKS family and it has grown itself on this moral basis.
Principles
LKS has identified its principle for working along with its community for their upliftment:
- No harm to environment as it has been identified as the core of every activities
- Following Indian constitution and raising voice against any inequality
- No discrimination against dalits, women, minorities and disabled
- No practice of untouchability from the organisational staff
