About Us

about usLok Kalyan Sansthan was an individual effort that took shape of an organisation. The founder of this organisation was a fellow of the developmental studies. During his fellowship, he decided to establish an organisation to address the plight of the community which he belongs to.

LKS was registered as a society in the year 1998 (registration no. 03/BMR/9) under the Rajasthan Societies Registration Act, 1958. It was subsequently registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 1976 (registration number 125450015) and Income Tax Act, 1961 (registration number 907 dated March 29, 2004, under Section 12-A and 48/49 dated March 29, 2004, under Section 80-G).

The organisation is committed to the recognition, promotion and protection of all human beings with its best effortsin the region. It draws its experience and collaborative relationships to address the underlying causes of poverty and social injustice through

  • Confronting unequal power relations and discrimination
  • Increasing representation and participation in local governance
  • Implementing critical policies, program and services
  • Facilitating community services for the marginalized groups of the society

LKS is working on three fronts: as a grassroots organisation, as a resource organisation and as a movement organisation
